タクシードライバー

今日は八王子駅北口のカフェで読書をしてゆったり。そんな中、ふと外に目をやると客待ちのタクシーの多いこと。常に１５台から２０台のタクシーがロータリーに溢れ返っている。ある一台のタクシーをターゲットにして、発着所に着いてから客を乗せて発進するまでに何分かかるかずっと見てみました。すると、１５分後に発車。もう一台の別のタクシーもどのくらいかかるか計測すると、１２分くらい。時間帯は昼間の２時ぐらい。調べてみるとタクシードライバーの給料は売上の５０％が給料になるシステムらしい。乗せたお客さんがどのくらい離れた場所に行くかによると思うけど、客単価の平均は１５００円らしい。お客さんを目的地でおろしてまた発着所に着いてまた１５分くらい待つという事を考えると１時間にお客さんは２名がいいとこ。つまり売上３０００円。その半分が給料だから１５００円。隔日勤務の場合一日の運転時間は１７時間。つまり一日の給料は25500。もちろん、深夜の割り増し料金や、途中道でのピックアップ率などは考慮に入れない単純計算だけど、１か月１２勤務だとして月収、30万円くらい。年収３６０万円。賞与は、売上の１０％だとして７３万円くらい。年収４３０万円くらい。うーん。本当に年収６００万とか８００万円とか達成できる人いるのかな～。４００万稼ぐのもきつそうだけどなー。と、このように一人のドライバーに焦点を当てるときつそうなイメージになるけど。今日ずっとお客さんの乗り降りする様子を見て思ったのは、タクシー使う人って結構いるんだなーという事。昼過ぎの２、３時という時間にも限らず、１５台から２０台のタクシーが１５分くらいには全て入れ替わるのだから、それだけひっきりなしに客が来るという事。

Today, I spent at coffee shop at Hachiouji Station to read book. It was comfortable time. When I see outside, I found that there were a lot of taxies making a long line ( about from 15 to 20 vehicles) for waiting guest to get on.  I forcused on one taxi. I watched how much time the taxi would take to leave the taxi stand after arrive there. It was 15 minutes. Next Target one needed 12 minutes when was around 14 o'clock. According to internet, salary of taxi driver is 50% from the sales and 10 %  with bonus. It seems to be about 1500 yen for average passenger unit price. (Of course it will be a littele bit change depending on the distance of passenger' destination). In consideration of waiting time of about 15 minutes at Taxi stand, each driver would be able to carry two passengers for an hour at the most. So, it means that sales per an hour  is 3,000yen ( salary is 1,500 yen). In case of driver with alternate-day shift, He can drive 17 hours per day, 12 business days per month, so, he would earn 300,000 yen per month in simple calculation without considertation of midnight extra charge, any occasion that driver could pick up on the street on his way back and so on. Bonus would be 730,000. So total annual income would be 4.3 million yen. U-nn, I often see advertisement from taxt company that average annual income will be more than 5 million yen. I think that real situation of newcomer will be severe. Less people as newcomer would be able to reach 4 million yen.  As I write down, Taxi driver's job seems to be very hard focusing on each driver. But, What I felt today was there were larger passengers than I expected. Although it was idle time, 2,3 o'clock, One lot including 15 to 20 taxies will be replaced with next lot in only 15 minutes. It was surprising thing for me.
